What a memory that brings! My piano recital was Chopin Polonaise…don’t ask me which one now after all these years…but if I heard it I’d tell you. I never got over my wonderment of getting through it in one piece. I was 7.
Thank you, Pearl and Merrill. The photo was taken by our older daughter, Maya, using a new “hipstamatic” app for the iphone. I love the dated look of it. At the piano is our youngest, Isabelle, playing Schumann’s “A Little Piece” and Beethoven’s “Ecossaise.” After hearing her practice those two pieces so many times, I couldn’t help anticipating the difficult spots. She played right through the missed notes. That is the beauty of live music — each time through the piece is slightly different than the last.
This is beautiful and the photo is perfect.
Lovely.
Pearl
